The Virginia Real Estate Broker Exam is split into two parts.  The first part is the real estate broker national exam and the second part is the real estate broker state specific exam.  The national portion of the Virginia Real Estate broker exam is comprised of 80 questions.  In order to pass the exam an examinee must answer 60 out of the 80 questions correctly.  The time limit allowed to complete the Real Estate Broker National Portion is 105 minutes.

The state specific part of the Virginia Real Estate Broker Exam is comprised of 50 questions and an examinee must answer 38 questions correctly to pass.  The time limit allowed for the state specific part of the Virginia Real Estate Broker Exam is 55 minutes.

Real Estate Broker Exams in Virginia are administered by PSI exams at www.psiexams.com.  Before registering with PSI for the Virginia Real Estate Broker Exam you must be 18 years old as well as having completed the education and experience requirements.  You may register to take the exam after your real estate school forwards your education records to PSI.  You may register with PSI exams by mail, internet, phone, or fax.

In Virginia if you pass one part of the Real Estate Broker Exam you are permitted to take and pass the subsequent part at a later date as long as both are passed within 12 months.  You must also apply for your real estate broker license within one year of originally taking the exam. 

The Virginia Real Estate Broker exams are taken on computers.  You will receive your results immediately after finishing the exam.  The exam is closed book.

The registration fee to take the Virginia Real Estate Broker exam is $60.00 whether you take one or both parts of the exam.  The retake fee is $60.00 whether you take one or both parts of the exam.
