To become a licensed Real Estate salesperson in Texas you must fulfill the following requirements: You need to be either a US citizen or a legal alien resident who is a legal resident of Texas and who is at least 18 years old. The Texas Real Estate commission is permitted to conduct background checks on applicants. Also Texas law requires any student loans to be in good standing for a license to be granted or renewed. Fulfill the education requirement. Make sure you apply with TREC before you register for the exam. You must have an ID number issued by TREC before you can take the test.The exam fee is $59.00; the exam re-take fee is also $59.00. Texas specific part (45 minutes to complete the exam).This exam is closed book and administered by computer.Simple function calculators are allowed for the math portion. Two forms of ID are required. One ID government issued with photograph (Passport, Driver’s license, state ID). The other form of ID must have a preprinted name with signature. Arrive to the examination site 30 minutes early.
